Brigid Taylor Jackson named this bird this morning on Facebook ‘Haaa de Haa’ and that is more or less exactly the sound of the shrieking once high up in the air (are they afraid of heights Brigid or are they laughing at us?). The common name is Hadeda or Hadada Ibis (Bostrychia hagedash) and although originating from Sub-Saharan Africa you see them all over here in our village.
